When I first heard this song on the Kristin Chenoweth album, I fell in love with it. Brooke has such a great interpretation of it and she’s tiny and sassy just like Kristin. I enjoyed working with Brooke on building a richer, fuller 3rd vocal bridge and helping her experiment with her jazz style more. Before I ever met Brooke, I remember seeing her in a high school production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat where she played one of the narrators. I was so impressed that so much power came out of such a tiny frame. She reminded me of how Bernadette Peters commands a stage with beautiful petiteness. Brooke is one of those hardworking vocalists that has tapped into and discovered the flexibility of her voice through diligence and passion for musical theater and many other genres.
